# ZRANGESTORE

> Store the result of a range query.

Use `ZRANGESTORE` to run the same selection as [`ZRANGE`](/docs/redis/commands/sorted-set/zrange) and store the result in another sorted set instead of returning it.

The selection works exactly as it does for `ZRANGE`: by index, or by score with `BYSCORE`, or by member with `BYLEX`, with `REV` and `LIMIT` available in the same way. The members keep their original scores in the destination, which is overwritten if it exists and deleted when the range is empty. The reply is the number of members stored.

This is how a slice of a large ranking is materialized once, for instance the top thousand of a leaderboard, so that further intersections or repeated paging run against a small key.

## Arguments

## Response

The reply reports the result of the operation. Error replies have the same shape in RESP2 and RESP3 and are surfaced as exceptions by the SDKs below.
