# Upstash Blob Now Includes 1 TB of Free Egress Every Month

Upstash Blob now gives you 1 TB of free egress every month on the pay-as-you-go plan. You pay for bandwidth only after the first terabyte, at [$0.02 per GB](https://upstash.com/pricing/blob).

Egress is the data that leaves your bucket: every image, video, PDF or export your users download. One upload can turn into thousands of downloads, so bandwidth grows with your traffic while storage can stay small. With 1 TB included, an app that serves less than a terabyte a month gets all of its bandwidth for free.

## What you pay for now

- **Egress:** free up to 1 TB a month, then $0.02 per GB
- **Storage:** $0.02 per GB per month, billed on the monthly average of the bucket
- **Reads:** $0.30 per million
- **Uploads, copies and lists:** $4.50 per million
- **Upload bandwidth and deletes:** free

The free plan stays the same. It includes 1 GB of storage and 10 GB of egress a month, and you can sign up for it without a credit card.

Egress costs the same whether a file comes from the CDN cache or from the origin. Public files are served through [Cloudflare's CDN with no extra CDN fees](https://upstash.com/blog/upstash-blob), and the same rate applies worldwide.

For example, let's say your app serves 1,000 GB of files in a month. On Upstash Blob, that bandwidth costs $0. On S3, you pay for the 900 GB past the free tier: 900 × $0.09 = $81.

With Upstash Blob, you get browser uploads and a CDN through one typed SDK, and bandwidth is free up to a terabyte. It also uses the same account and bill as Upstash Redis, QStash and Workflow. For example, a common setup stores the file in Blob, then starts a Workflow job from the upload callback to make thumbnails or index the document.
